“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language.  And next year’s words await another voice. And to make an end is to make a beginning.” – T.S. Elliot.

With every New Year, brings new opportunity, and the team at Sacred Stitch will not disappoint in 2012.  This past year was a big one for us, and we could not have made it happen without the support of you, our fans.  So let’s take a moment to look back at some of the highlights that set the foundation upon which we are planning to not only build the brand further, but evolve it, and bring it to a whole other level.

The 2011 Spring/Summer Collection was our most successful yet.  Our friends at Apt No. 7 worked with us to launch the collection with our lookbook, behind the scenes video, and line launch party at NYC’s White Rabbit.  The collection established the brand’s personality in two capsules, “Sailors and Scallywags”, along with two branded tees, and two 5 panel hats.

The success of the Spring/Summer collection spread the Sacred Stitch love to several more of your favorite retailers across the country and even jumped the ocean to Japan.  We were happy to make some new friends with the team at Walkin’ Store, one of Japan’s most respected streetwear retailers, which lead to a feature in 411 Magazine.  Sacred Stitch was also seen on the pages of Antenna Mag, Frank 151, Format Mag and YRB, as well as on BET’s 106 and Park and MTV’s Spring Break 2011, and in the music videos of our extended family of hip hop artists.  We can’t express how much we appreciate the love and support from you all.

The fall brought with it the release of our first crewneck sweatshirts, and the year ends with the recent drop of our Winter Wool Series five panel hats.  In 2011 we were excited to see the addition of new apparel to our arsenal with Good Wood accessories, 5 panel hats, and sweatshirts.  Continuing the trend, keep an eye out in 2012 for the launch of Sacred Stitch cut and sew.

2011 was a big year for collaborations as well.  One of the biggest projects, and most successful, was our team up with the one and only Good Wood NYC.  The NYC Rat Race Pack featured a graphic tee along with a wood rat pendant and roach broach.  The collaboration was a huge success and it allowed us to offer our style in a whole new form.  Another huge collaboration was our second year working with the team at Brooklyn Bodega to put together an exclusive tee for their famous Annual Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival.  Our Brooklyn, “We Do It For The Love”, tee was a hit at the festival and created a buzz that will follow us into the new year.

As we plan to do in 2012, this past year Sacred Stitch continued to not only provide designs that our fans demand, but also constantly looked to make our brand an experience outside of just the trend setting apparel.  Priding Sacred Stitch as a brand that keeps close to the streets and the activities in the street culture community, we were out there even more in 2011, and we did our best to bring it back to you in the various features on our website. Our interview section saw some new additions this year.  To name a few; Mast One, Ewok, Bates, and Paul St. Savage.  The Sacred Stitch family of local artists and celebrities grew this year in size and success of which we made sure to share with you all on our fan-favorite blog with videos and exclusives.  One of our favorite new features that shares the Sacred Stitch experience with our fans is one we will absolutely continue in the New Year, our behind the scenes videos.  We plan to revamp the website once again, keeping it fresh like the brand, but still providing the features we have received so much positive feedback about.

2011 was an amazing year for the Sacred Stitch team and it could not have been done without the love, help, and support from our fans, friends, and extended family.  We are blessed to have you all.  The Sacred Stitch team will be working hard over the coming weeks and months to bring our valued customers, fans, and followers some of the most stylish and quality apparel that we know you will enjoy in your wardrobe!  We hope you all have a great holiday season and blessed New Year.
