June 17th, 2010 by

Two fields, seven NFL players, over 50 coaches and volunteers, hundreds of footballs and 500 aspiring football players from grades three through eight made up Ray Rice Day at New Rochelle High School this past Saturday. The sun was out and there was a cool breeze in the air as children and pros alike had a blast teaching, learning and just having fun in Westchester County just north of New York City. They were all there because New Rochelle’s finest, Ray Rice, did what all pro athletes should do: he gave back.“The motivation is to give back to these kids. I was once a young kid in their shoes,” Rice said amid the sounds of whistles blowing and youngsters calling his name, waiting for the chance to get the local hero’s autograph.
